1. T+0
SETTLEMENT CYCLE FOR TOP 500 STOCKS
·
The Securities and Exchange Board of
India (SEBI) issued which empowers the SEBI to protect investor interests,
regulate the securities market, and promote its development.
·
Through
this circular, SEBI has decided to
expand the scope of the optional T+0 rolling settlement cycle in the equity
cash market.
·
As per
SEBI’s directions, optional T+0
settlement cycle will be made available to top 500 scrips in terms of
market capitalization as on December 31, 2024.
·
For
the initial phase, the eligible scrips will be made available for ‘T+0’ settlement starting with scrips
at bottom 100 companies every month till top 500 companies are available
for trading.
·
Stock Exchanges will
introduce a mechanism for Block Deal
window under the optional ‘T+0’ settlement cycle, this mechanism will be available only for the morning session
during 8:45 am to 9:00 am.

SEBI MANDATED MF COMPANIES
TO PROCESS CANCELLATIONS OF SIP IN 2 DAYS

The Securities and Exchange Board of
India (SEBI) has mandated to all Mutual Fund (MF)
companies to reduce the processing time for cancelling their Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) to 2 working days
from the previous 10 working days.
·
As per the new norms, it is now mandatory for
all Asset Management Companies (AMCs) to
adhere to the two–day time frame for the
cancellation of SIP, irrespective of
whether SIP was registered online or offline.

RBI CANCELS REGISTRATION
OF ZAVRON FINANCE DUE TO NON-COMPLIANCE
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in
exercise of powers conferred by Section 45-IA (6) of the RBI Act, 1934,
has cancelled the Certificate of Registration (CoR)
of Zavron Finance Private Limited, a non-banking financial institution (NBFI) based in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
·
This action was taken due to its irregular
lending practices and serious breaches of RBI guidelines on digital lending.
·
Zavron Finance Limited outsourced key
operations like credit appraisal, loan disbursal, interest rate
determination, and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification to third-party Lending
Service Providers (LSPs), violating RBI’s outsourcing code of conduct.

INDIA’S FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT INFLOWS HIT
USD 1 TRILLION
·
As per data released by Department
for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in December
2024 ,India reached a significant economic milestone with
gross Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows totaling USD 1
trillion since April 2000.
·
In the first
half of the current Financial Year 2024-25 (FY25), FDI increased by about 26% to USD 42.1 billion.
·
FDI inflows totalled USD 709.84
billion over the last ten years (April 2014 to September 2024), which
represents 68.69% of all FDI inflows over the past 24 years.
·
Mauritius topped FDI
inflows at 25%, followed by Singapore in second place with
24%.
·
In the Global Innovation Index 2023,
India ranked 40th out of 132 economies, securing 48th position among
the top 50 most innovative countries.

of the need for strong and resilient health systems and universal health
coverage.

Renowned Indian tabla player & Padma
Awardee Zakir Hussain Allaraka Qureshi passed away at
the age of 73 in California, the United States of America
(USA).
·
He was born on March 9, 1951 in Mumbai,
Maharashtra.
·
Zakir Hussain, a 4 time Grammy
award winner, has received the Padma Vibhushan (2023), the
Padma Bhushan (2002) and the Padma Shri (1988).
·
His collaborations with Western musicians like Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, on the
album ‘Planet Drum’, became landmark
moments in the world of fusion music.
·
Planet Drum went on to win
the 1st-ever Grammy for ‘Best World Music Album’ in 1992,
setting the stage for Zakir Hussain’s global recognition.

AWAY

Indian Squash Player ‘Raj Manchanda’ also
known as ‘the Old Fox’ passed away at the age of 79
in New Delhi.
