ENERGY MANAGEMENT INSIGHT AWARD

Odisha based NTPC Talcher Kaniha or
Talcher Super Thermal Power Station has been awarded the prestigious 2024
Energy Management Insight Award from the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM).
·
CEM
is a global forum composed of 29 Member Governments and 21 participant
countries committed to promoting clean energy policies and technologies.
·
The CEM Energy Management Leadership Awards recognize leading organizations that use the global ISO 50001
Energy Management System (EnMS) standard to attain enduring improvement in
energy performance.
·
CHANGSHIN INC Indonesia Factory (Indonesia) and US
Air Force Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC),
the United States of America (USA) have attained the program’s top honour, the Award of Excellence in Energy Management.
·
OC-ALC is the first USA government organization certified to ISO 50001.
·
35 organisations have been awarded the Energy
Management Insight Award. Of which 4 awards have
been awarded to the Indian companies.

2. MOR AWARDED NSG-1
STATUS TO VIJAYAWADA RAILWAY STATION
·
The
Ministry of Railways (MoR) has awarded the Non-Suburban Group-1 (NSG-1) status
to Vijayawada Junction Railway Station (BZA), Vijayawada,
Andhra Pradesh (AP).
·
Vijayawada
railway station is the second station in SCR to achieve NSG-1
status after Secunderabad Junction Railway station.
·
The
NSG-1 status is given to stations where annual revenue is more than Rs
500 crore or the number of passengers per year is more than 20 lakh.

4. IRAN SUCCESSFULLY
LAUNCHES CHAMRAN-1 RESEARCH SATELLITE
·
Iran has successfully launched ‘Chamran-1’
research satellite and put into a 550 kilometre(km) orbit by
the Qaem-100 satellite carrier.
·
The
launch was made at the Guard’s launch pad near the city of Shahroud, some
350km(215 miles) east of the capital, Tehran, Iran.
·
This
is Iran’s second satellite launch in 2024, first under Iran’s President Masoud
Pezezhkian.
·
The
satellite’s mission was to evaluate the cold gas propulsion subsystem in space
systems and the performance of the navigation and attitude control subsystems.
5. F1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND
PRIX 2024
·
McLaren’s
Oscar Piastri,
an Australian racing driver won the Formula 1 (F1) Qatar Airways Azerbaijan
Grand Prix (GP) 2024 held at the Baku City Circuit
(BCC) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
·
Ferrari’s
Charles Leclerc,
a Monegasque racing driver finished 2nd followed by Mercedes’
George Russell, a British racing driver who finished 3rd.

HOCKEY: ASIAN CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2024
·
The 8th edition of
the Hero Asian Champions Trophy was held at the Moqi
Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia,
China.
·
The Indian men’s hockey team won
the Asian Champion Trophy 2024 by defeating China with a 1-0 score
·
This marks India’s 5th
Asian Championship title.
·
China finished as runners-up,
while Pakistan came third.
·
Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament – Yang Jihun (9 Goals) – South Korea
·
The
Asian Champions Trophy is the annual men’s hockey tournament organised by the Asian
Hockey Federation since 2011.
·

Peters of Grenada won his first Diamond
League title with a throw of 87.87 m and the 2023 European Games champion Julian
Weber of Germany finished 3rd with a
throw of 85.97 m.

Diamond League is an annual series of track and field

The 14th Hockey India Junior Men National
Championship 2024 held at the Olympian Surjit Singh
Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar, Punjab.

The 14th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2024
saw participation from an impressive 29 teams from
across the country

Final match between Hockey Punjab and Uttar
Pradesh Hockey.

Hockey Punjab
emerged victorious in the penalty
shootout with a score of 4-3.

International Airport (IGIA) in New Delhi(Delhi), has been ranked
at 24th spot among the top 25 Megahub airports
globally

Mumbai’s (Maharashtra) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International
Airport (CSMIA) is at 44th
·
UK-based London Heathrow
Airport (LHR) has once again secured
the 1st spot
in the latest rankings, followed by Kuala Lumpur
International Airport (KUL) in Malaysia and Tokyo-Haneda International Airport (HND) in Japan, secured 2nd and 3rd position
respectively.
10. INDIA FOOD INDEX

Kerala has once again secured first position in the State Food Safety Index (SFSI) 2024, marking the second
consecutive year that the southern state has claimed the spot.

The report was released in the inaugural session of FSSAI Global Food
Regulators Summit 2024 held at New Delhi
·
The Index is an annual
assessment released by the Food Safety
and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
·
Top Performing States are Kerala and Tamil Nadu
·
FSSAI is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of India.
