NEW PRIME MINISTER OF FRANCE
·
Emmanuel Macron, President of France, has
appointed Michel Barnier as the new Prime
Minister (PM) of France.
·
At 73, Barnier is the oldest of
the 26 prime ministers that have served modern France’s Fifth Republic.
·
He will take charge from the
outgoing PM Gabriel Attal, who has been serving as
the caretaker PM of France following the 2024 Election results.
·
Gabriel Attal has been serving as the PM of France since January 2024.
·
At
the age of 34, he became the youngest person and the first openly gay person to
serve as French PM.

RAMA MOHAN RAO AMARA AS MD OF SBI

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau
(FSIB) has recommended Rama Mohan Rao Amara for
the position of Managing Director (MD) of State Bank
of India (SBI) to fill the vacancy created by the elevation of
Challa Sreenivasulu (CS)
Setty as the Chairman of SBI.

Raja Randhir Singh (aged
77), a former Indian shooter and
veteran sports administrator, has been elected as the President of
the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for a tenure of

Indian to serve as President of OCA.

He had been serving as the Acting
President of OCA since 2021, following the 15-year ban of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad

by 2027.

As per the report, Elon Musk who
is currently, the richest man in the world with total net worth of USD
248 billion to become the world’s 1st trillionaire requires
his wealth to grow at an average annual growth rate of nearly 110%.

The report estimated that Gautam Adani(USD
111 billion), Chairman of Adani Group (India) will become the
2nd trillionaire by 2028

Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra
Modi virtually launched the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ initiative with
an outlay of Rs 27 crore was in Surat,
Gujarat.
·
This program is a collaboration between the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) and
the Government of Gujarat, focuses on water conservation
and community participation.
·
The initiative
includes the construction of around 24,800 rainwater
harvesting structures across Gujarat
·
The ‘Jal Sanchay Jan
Bhagidari’ aims to address water shortages by constructing rainwater
harvesting structures
in critical regions with community engagement.
·
The
initiative seeks to enhance groundwater levels and boost water
infiltration by implementing rainwater harvesting measures in the districts of Surat, Tapi, Dang,
Navsari, and Valsad
·
Jal Shakti Abhiyan(JSA) was
launched in 2019 in 1592 blocks in 256 water stressed districts of the
country to promote water conservation and water resource management.
·
It
was renamed “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch
the Rain” in 2021 and expanded to all over India to promote water
conservation awareness among the public.

ABU DHABI CROWN PRINCE’S VISIT TO INDIA

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh
Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahayan was on a official 2-day
state visit to India in September 2024 at the invitation of the Prime Minister
(PM) of India, Narendra Modi.

PM E-DRIVE SCHEME FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE REVOLUTION
·
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, has approved the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative
Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme to promote electric mobility in
India.
·
The scheme, with an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore
over two years, aims to expedite EV adoption, improve air quality,
and reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
·
Rs. 3,679 crore
allocated for subsidies to incentivize
e-2Ws, e-3Ws, e-ambulances, e-trucks, and e-buses, supporting over 28 lakh
electric vehicles.
·
Rs. 500 crore
dedicated to the introduction of e-ambulances,
ensuring safer, more comfortable patient transport with new safety standards.
·
Rs. 4,391 crore has been
allocated to procure 14,028 e-buses for
nine cities with populations exceeding 4 million and for intercity routes,
promoting cleaner mass mobility.
·
Rs. 2,000 crore allocated for installing 72,300 fast chargers across
cities and highways, addressing range anxiety among EV users.
