FOUNDATION STONE OF C-295
TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN VADODARA, GUJARAT
·
The Prime Minister (PM) of India Narendra
Modi laid the foundation stone of C-295 Transport Aircraft Manufacturing
Facility in Vadodara, Gujarat which will be set up by India’s Tata Advanced
Systems Ltd (TASL) and Spain’s Airbus Defence and Space.
·
This is the first project of its kind in
which a military aircraft (C-295) will be manufactured in India under
technology transfer by the private sector.
·
This
aircraft can be used for civilian purposes as well.
·
The C-295 will replace IAF’s Avro-748
planes aircraft in service.
2.
‘DEFEXPO 2022′ HELD IN
GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT
·
In order to boost the defence sector, Prime
Minister (PM) Narendra Modi inaugurated the DefExpo 2022 (12th
edition), India’s “biggest ever” defence exhibition, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat
·
Data Patterns (India) Limited, a
Chennai based provider of defence and aerospace electronics systems, received
the ‘Raksha Mantri Award for Excellence for 2021-22′ from
the Defence Minister.
·
Currently, the aerospace and defence industry
is worth around Rs. 80,000 crore, with the private sector contributing more
than Rs. 17,000 crore.

UNSC ADOPTS DELHI
DECLARATION
·
The Government of India, for the first time,
hosted the special two-day meeting of the United Nations Security Council’s
Counter(UNSC)-Terrorism Committee (CTC) on countering the use of new and
emerging technologies for terrorist purposes.
·
Meeting
was hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs(MEA was held in Mumbai,
Maharashtra and New Delhi
·
During
the meeting, the non-binding document, known as The Delhi Declaration on
countering the use of new and emerging technologies for terrorist purposes was
adopted in New Delhi

MOU SIGNED FOR UPGRADATION
TO PM-SHRI SCHOOLS
·
India’s 13 states and 3 Union Territories (UTs) along
with the KendriyaVidyalayaSangathan (KVS) and
NavodayaVidyalayaSamiti (NVS) have signed an memorandum
of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of
Education (MoE) to upgrade their schools under the Pradhan Mantri Schools For Rising India
(PM-SHRI) scheme.

The PM SHRI is a scheme under the MoE
initiated for the development of more than 14,500
schools across India towards quality education and cognitive development of
students
·
Each
state will have an upper limit of two schools per block including, one elementary and one Secondary
or Senior Secondary.
·
The scheme of PM SHRI schools is implemented
as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with a total project cost of Rs 27,360 crore, out of which, Rs. 18,128 crore will be the centre’s
share for the period of 5 academic sessions (2022-23 to 2026-27).
·
The
schools under the scheme will be developed as Green schools that
incorporate environment-friendly aspects such as solar panels and LED lights,
nutrition gardens with natural farming, waste management, plastic-free, water
conservation and harvesting.

Selection process – PM
Shri schools will be selected through Challenge Mode, by
self-applying on the online portal, which will open 4 times a year (once every
quarter), for the 1st two years after the implementation of the
scheme.

ARUNACHAL PRADESH FISH
MUSEUM AT TARIN
·
Arunachal Pradesh will
establish a fish museum, the first-of-its-kind in
the North-East region (NER)
·
This
project will be built at a financial
outlay of Rs 43.59 crore in the current
financial year (FY23) as the first instalment.
·
The fish
museum would be a part of the India’s
first Integrated Aqua Park (IAP), sanctioned by the
Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAHD) at Tarin (Ziro)
·
The IAP
was sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
(PMMSY), with a financial outlay of Rs
50 Crores, with a Central share of Rs 45.11 Crores.

NEW DIRECTOR OF ICAR-SBI
·
The Indian Council of Agricultural
Research-Sugarcane Breeding Institute (ICAR-SBI) (Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu)
appointed Dr G Hemaprabha, as the 1st woman Director of ICAR SBI, the
111-year-old institution which was established in 1912.
·
She was
appointed up to 2024 on the recommendations of the Agricultural
Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi, Delhi, under the Ministry of
Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoA&FW).

Internationale de Football Association) U-17 Women’s World Cup was hosted by

Royal Australian Navy ships HMAS
Anzac arrived in Visakhapatnam for

Endeavour (IPE) 2022’ exercise with the Indian Navy (IN).

16. NORTH
INDIA’S FIRST DATA CENTRE INAUGURATESAT GREATER NOIDA
·
Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister (CM) of Uttar
Pradesh (UP), inaugurated North
India’s first hyper-scale data centre, ‘Yotta D1,’ of
Yotta Infrastructure Solutions, in Greater Noida, UP.
·
The
3,00,000 square feet data centre was built with an investment of around Rs
1,500 crore and operationalized in a record-breaking 20 months.
17. IT
DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES HARIT-AAYKAR INITIATIVE
The Income Tax Department (IT Department) launched HARIT (Hariyali
Achievement Resolution by Income Tax) Aaykar initiative
on the occasion of National Unity Day to increase greenery and create a micro
forest.

Under the
HARIT Aaykar initiative, the IT Department resolves to increase the greenery by
planting trees and creating micro forests in and around IT Department’s
buildings and other public areas.
·
The 1st
of such micro-forest was inaugurated by Nitin Gupta, Chairman of the Central Board of
Direct Taxes (CBDT),
at Bharopal, Punjab, near the India-Pak border.
18. RENEW
COMMITS TO BE NET-ZERO FIRM BY 2040
·
ReNew Energy Global PLC announced its ESG
(environmental, social, and governance) targets including a commitment to
achieve net-zero by 2040 through its sustainability report for 2021-22
titled ‘Partnering for transition, progressing sustainably,
prospering together’.
·
It aims to reduce GHG (greenhouse gases)
emissions by 29.4% by 2027 and a net-zero target of reducing GHG
emissions by 90 per cent across all scopes by 2040.
·
The 2040 commitment is 30 years ahead of
India’s 2070 target and more ambitious than net-zero targets of many global
energy companies.
19. RBI
LAUNCHES PILOT PROJECT OF DIGITAL RUPEE IN WHOLESALE SEGMENT
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has commenced
its first pilot project to implement Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)
or Digital Rupee (e₹) in the Wholesale
Segment (e₹-W) for secondary trade in government securities
(G-secs) beginning on November 1, 2022.
·
A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) or
Digital Rupee is a digital version of currency notes issued by a central bank.
·
The
Indian CBDC, which will be known as “(e₹)”, is a digital
version of the Rupee and may be exchanged one-for-one for fiat currency.
·
The RBI
has designated 9 banks to participate in the digital
rupee wholesale (e₹-W) pilot project.
·
The nine
banks are State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda (BoB), Union Bank of India
(UBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, IDFC First Bank, and
HSBC.
20. 2022 AP7: NEW POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS ASTEROID DISCOVERED
·
The 1.5 kilometer(0.9 mile)
wide asteroid, named 2022 AP7, was discovered in an area normally
difficult to spot objects due to the glare from the Sun.
·
2022 AP7 takes five years to
go round the sun once.
·
At present the asteroid
remains several million kilometers away from Earth
·
In September, NASA collided
a spacecraft with an asteroid in a bid to change its trajectory.
·
The test mission was a
preparation for any such situation where an asteroid might threaten the Earth.
·
Astronomers have discovered
at least 30,000 asteroids near the Earth, and have named them “Near Earth
Objects” (NEOs) which will not threaten the earth for the next 100 years.
