PM LAUNCHED INDIAN SPACE ASSOCIATION
• Prime
Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the Indian Space Association (ISpA),
a private industry body to help boost space technology in India.
• ISpA
will participate and work with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
and other stakeholders of both government and its agencies, on the issue of
policy around space domain and technology.

INDIAN NAVY TO HOST ITS LARGEST EXERCISE EX MILAN
• India’s
largest Naval exercise, Ex Milan, was scheduled to be hosted by the Indian Navy
in February 2022.
• 46
countries have been invited to attend the exercise.
• The
exercise will include the participation of all Quad (Quadrilateral Security
Dialogue) countries.
• The
Quad countries include India, USA, Australia, and Japan in which the USA is
being invited for the 1st time.
• So
far the exercise was conducted in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar and now, it
is being shifted to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

HENLEY’S PASSPORT INDEX Q4-2021 TO 90TH; JAPAN & SINGAPORE TOPS
• India’s
ranked has slipped by 6 places to 90th from 84th
• The
index has been topped by Japan and Singapore as they allowed travel visa-free
to 192 countries to their passport holders.

UNHRC DECLARES ACCESS TO A CLEAN, HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT A HUMAN RIGHT
• High
Commissioner for United Nation Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Michelle Bachelet
recognised access to a clean and healthy environment as a fundamental right.
• Triple
planetary threats of climate change, pollution, and nature loss are described
by her as the single greatest human rights challenge and recognizes the right
to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
• The
new resolution was proposed by Costa Rica, the Maldives, Morocco, Slovenia, and
Switzerland and passed with significant support of 43 votes.
• Russia,
India, China and Japan abstained from voting.

Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Science
which is formally known as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in

Card for his empirical contributions to labour economics
• Joshua
D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens for their methodological contributions to the
analysis of causal relationships.
• The
prize for economic science consists of a gold medal and a cash prize of 10
million Swedish kronor (SEK).

International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship Rifle
/ Pistol / Shotgun held in Lima, Peru .

finished the 2021 ISSF Junior World Championships at the top with 43 medals
which include 17 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze.

United States of America(USA) ranked 2nd in the medal tally with 21 medals

programme, which enables the citizens who are successful in respective fields
to provide guidance on career choices to the students of Delhi government
schools.

Sonu Sood is the brand ambassador of the “Desh Ke Mentor” Programme.
• As
a part of the initiative, interested citizens can adopt 1 to 10 students of
Delhi government schools and mentor them in an interested field.

AVIATION PVT LTD GETS NOC FROM MOCA TO OPERATE ‘AKASA AIR’ BY 2022
• The
Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) gave NOC (No Objection Certificate) to SNV
Aviation Pvt Ltd to operate commercial flights across India under the brand
name ‘Akasa Air’ from summer 2022.
• This
proposed airline is backed by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the Big Bull or Warren
Buffett of India; and former Jet Airways CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Vinay
Dube.

PM METTE FREDERIKSEN’S VISIT TO INDIA
• Prime
Minister (PM) of Denmark H.E. Mette Frederiksen visited India .It is Mette
Frederiksen Blinken’s 1st State visit to India.
• The
two nation’s PMs have reconfirmed their commitment to Green Strategic
Partnership and have firmed up a 5-year action plan (from 2021 to 2026) to
implement it focused on ways to augment and consolidate green and low carbon growth.

NATIONS CONDUCT 2ND PHASE OF MALABAR EXERCISE
• QUAD
countries – India, Australia, Japan & USA started the joint Naval exercise
‘Malabar’ in the Bay of Bengal region.
• The
3-day long naval exercise is aimed at building coordination &
interoperability among the navies that was established during the 1st phase.
• QUAD
or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue is a grouping of 4 countries – India,
Australia, Japan & USA, that was initially established in 2007 under the
proposal of Japanese PM Shinzo Abe.
• Motive
– To counter China’s rising influence & maintain a free Indo-Pacific
region.

BAHADUR SHASTRI NATIONAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
• The
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the 22nd Lal Bahadur Shastri National
Award for Excellence to Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences
(AIIMS) Dr Randeep Guleria.
• Lal
Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence was presented to honour the
exemplary standards of morality in public life.

unveiled the world’s first automated, driverless train in the city of Hamburg,
Germany.

the train is fully automated, a driver will still be present to supervise

• FIFA
unveiled Ibha, an Asiatic lioness as the official mascot of the U-17 Women’s
World Cup India 2022.

objective of the mascot is to inspire girls and women around the world to work
up to their full potential.
• The
seventh edition of biennial international football tournament, the 2022 FIFA
U-17 Women’s World Cup is being hosted by India from October 11 to 30, 2022.
