1. The 35th Tri-Services Commanders Conference for
2019 was held in Jaisalmer,
Rajasthan.
2. General Conference of IAEA
ü
The 63rd Annual Regular Session of the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference was held in
Vienna, the capital of Austria with participation from 171 IAEA member states.
3. Reserve Bank new order regarding ‘failed’ transactions
ü Under
this, the time period has been fixed for the disposal of grievances and auto
reversal of the amount on the failed transaction for the banks, which has been
termed as Turn Around Time (TAT).
ü
Banks will have to pay compensation to the
customers if there is no settlement or reversal of the transaction within this
time period. This compensation will be as per Rs 100 per day after completion
of the time period.
4. RBI increased the loan sanction limit for small exporters
ü RBI
increased the loan sanction limit for small exporters as priority sector
lending (PSL) by banks to Rs 40 crore per borrower from Rs
25 crore in order to boost credit to the export sector.
ü
The existing criteria of ‘units having a
turnover of up to Rs 100 crore’ was removed.
ü
PSL is a mandatory requirement under which
lenders are required to devote a portion of their advances to empower focused
groups of the economy. All sectors put together, this adds up to 42% of the
total lending for each bank.
5. Sardar Patel National Unity Award
ü
union home ministry announced a new honour
named the Sardar Patel National Unity Award to individuals and
persons for promoting national unity and integrity.
6. 2020 QS Graduate Employability
Rankings
ü In QS(Quacquarelli Symonds)
Graduate Employability Rankings 2020, the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Bombay topped
all the Indian institutes in the list with band ranking 111-120.
ü The list was topped overall
by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), United States (US).
7. RIL becomes the most valued domestic firm
ü
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)
became the most valued domestic firm in market capitalisation (m-cap) by
surpassing Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
ü
RIL’s m-cap stood at Rs 7,95,179.62 crore.
8. Madhukar Kamath was elected as the
chairman of the Audit
Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2019-20 succeeding
Hormusji N Cama.
9. International Day of Peace- 21 September, 2019

The theme of
this Day for 2019 was ‘Climate
Action for Peace’.

System and the ‘E-Saathi App’

Shah launched 3 citizen centric services of
chandigarh police at the 29th meeting of the Northern Zonal Council in
chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana. The three services
are ‘E-Beat Book’ System, ‘E-Saathi App’ and Emergency Response Support
System (ERSS – Dial 112).

Emergency numbers like 1073 for road
accidents, 1091, 181 for women helpline and other helpline services would be
added under the ERSS-Dial 112 soon.
