1. UNION
GOVERNMENT PUTS NDTV BAN ON HOLD
i. The one-day ban on NDTV’s Hindi channel, widely
condemned, has been put on hold by Information and Broadcasting Minister
Venkaiah Naidu.
ii. The decision comes after the Supreme Court agreed to
hear NDTV’s application for a stay on the ban.
ii. The Indian government ordered to ban penalty for its
coverage of an attack on Indian soldiers in January.
iii. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
revealed the channel had aired strategically sensitive details during the
deadly attack on the Pathankot airbase, allegedly carried out by the
Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed group.

TO OPEN PRADHAN MANTRI KAUSHAL VIKAS KENDRA IN EVERY PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY
i. The Centre has planned to open Pradhan Mantri Kaushal
Vikas Kendra in every to offer skill training to the people and make them
employable.
ii. . The government is also starting Driver Training
Institute in every district of the country to offer driving skills of high
standard.
iii. The aim of the scheme is to encourage aptitude
towards employable skills and to increase working efficiency of probable and
existing daily wage earners, by giving monetary awards and rewards and by
providing quality training to them
3. CHINA
ADOPTED CYBERSECURITY LAW
i. China adopted a new Cybersecurity Law, a regressive
measure that strengthens censorship, surveillance, and other controls over the
Internet.
ii. The new law is also planned at tightening and
centralizing state control over technology equipment, “raising concerns among
foreign companies operating in the country.”

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA AND ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK SIGNS $48 MILLION LOAN TO
IMPROVE ASSAM’S POWER DISTRIBUTION.
i. The Asian Development Bank and the Government of India signed a $48
million loan deal to help Assam improve its electricity power distribution
system.
ii. The project will help Assam to improve the efficiency
of its Power Distribution System, expand and improve medium voltage network,.
iii. Asian Development Bank located at headquarter Manila, Philippines.

i. US Republican Donald Trump won the US presidential
elections in a stunning victory.
ii. He won the elections by 276 seats.
iii. He is scheduled to take office as the 45th President
of the United States of America.
iv. Donald Trump won elections from Republican Party after defeating Hillary Clinton
Democratic Party
6. RBI
ISSUES NEW SERIES OF RS 500 AND RS 2,000 CURRENCY NOTES
i. The Reserve Bank of India has issued new series of
notes for 500 rupees and 2,000 rupees denomination with improved features and
newer sizes.
ii. Both the designs of 500 rupees and 2,000 rupees notes
is very friendly towards the visually-impaired by having features which make it
accessible for all sections.
iii. It will be for the first time 2,000 rupees note
denomination has been issued.
iv. It will be called as the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Series’.
v. It will be in a stone grey in colour.
