BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT PROGRAMME TO BE LAUNCHED
i. ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’
programme will be launched to link States and Districts in an annual programme
.
ii. The programme will connects people
though exchanges in areas of language, culture, trade, tourism and travel.
2. DINESH
SHARMA APPOINTED AS CHAIRMAN OF GOVERNING COUNCIL OF IFAD
i. Dinesh Sharma Governor to the
International Fund for Agriculture Development was elected as the Chairperson
of the Governing Council of IFAD .
ii. He was elected for a period of two
years in Rome, Italy.
iii. IFAD was established in 1977 as
the Specialized Agency of the United Nations to work towards removing poverty
and hunger in rural areas all over the world.
iv. India is a founder member of IFAD
and a key contributor among the member countries.

WAWRINKA WON DUBAI TITLE
i. Switzerland Player Stanislas
Wawrinka won the Dubai Tennis Championships title by defeating Marcos Baghdatis
of Cyprus.
ii. Earlier he also won the 2014
Australian Open and 2015 French Open.

TWITTER LAUNCHES POSITION OF STRENGTH CAMPAIGN TO EMPOWER WOMEN
i. Twitter for first time has launched ‘Position
of strength campaign’ in India to empower women to raise voices against any
form of discrimination.
ii. The campaigning will spread
awareness to bridge the gender equality gap online in India
iii. It will also inspire the women leaders next generation to have an
influential voice in society.
iv. The campaign has been already been
launched in Australia and Ireland.
5. ARMAAN EBRAHIM WON FMSCI
MOTORSPORTS MAN OF THE YEAR TROPHY
i. Car racer Armaan Ebrahim was awarded
the Motorsports Man-of-the-Year Trophy by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs
of India.
ii. B.I. Chandhok received the Lifetime Achievement Award for
his contribution to motorsports in the country.
iii. Federation of Motor Sports Clubs
of India was established in 1971 and is a long-standing member of the
Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme
for the promotion and control of motor sport in India.
6. RAHUL
SACHDEV WON 1ST ALL INDIA OPEN INVITATIONAL SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIP 2016
i. Rahul Sachdev won the 1st All India
Open Invitational Snooker Championship 2016 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
ii. He defeated Pushpender Singh of
Railways in the final.
