1. ‘CORPAT MARITIME EXERCISE’ BETWEEN INDIA AND INDONESIA
i. CORPAT maritime exercise between India and Indonesia began in the Andaman Sea.
ii. The navies of two countries have been carrying out Coordinated Patrolling along the International Maritime Boundary Line twice a year since 2002.
iii. The aim of this exercise is to keep vital part of the Indian Ocean Region safe and secure for commercial shipping and international trade.
2. ‘WORLD’S HIGHEST TERRESTRIAL RESEARCH CENTRE’ IN LADAKH SET UP BY DRDO
i.Defence Research and Development Organisation has set up the world’s Highest Terrestrial Research Centre near Pengong Lake at Changla in Ladakh.
ii. The Research Centre is located at 17,600 feet above mean sea level and it was inaugurated by Director General of DRDO Dr S Christopher
iii. It will serve as a natural cold storage for preserving endangered and rare medical plants for future generations and Large number of Life Sciences activities will be undertaken at this centre.
3. ‘SHASHANK MANOHAR’ ELECTED BCCI PRESIDENT
i. Shashank Manohar was elected President of Board of Control for Cricket in India .
ii. He was elected unopposed during a special general meeting of BCCI following the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
iii. Shashank Manohar, has also served as the 29th President of the board from 2008 to 2011.
4. ‘2015 WUHAN OPEN WOMEN’S DOUBLES TITLE’ WON BY SANIA MIRZA-MARTINA HINGIS
i. Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis have won 2015 Wuhan Open Women’s Doubles Trophy t in Wuhan, China.
ii. The Indo-Swiss pair together in this year has won seventh World Tennis Association doubles titles.
iii. Earlier both of them had won the Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Charleston Opem, Wimbledon, US Open and Guangzhou Open in 2015 season.
