 DAILY GK 9-11 APRIL 2025 

1.       EXERCISE SARVSHAKTI

·         The Indian Army (IA) successfully demonstrated the Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capability during Exercise SARVSHAKTI, conducted by the Trishakti Corps in India’s Eastern Theatre.

·         The exercise showcased the integration of dronesautonomous systems, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled platforms in tactical-level military operations.

·         In March 2025, the Indian Army’s (IA’sFleur-De-Lis Brigade, in collaboration with Chandigarh (Punjab) based Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), successfully tested a First Person View (FPVdrone with a kamikaze-style anti-tank munition in Pathankot, Punjab.

 

2.       F1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

·         Max Verstappen, Belgian-Dutch driver of Red Bull won the Formula 1 (F1) Japanese Grand Prix 2025 held at Suzuka Circuit, in Suzuka, Japan.

·         McLaren’s  Lando Norris secured 2nd position (18 points). Currently tops championship leader board.

 


3.       FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP IN 2031 AND 2035

·         FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that USA is the sole bidder to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, while the United Kingdom (UK) will host the 2035 edition.

·         The announcement was made during the 49th Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Congress in Belgrade, Serbia.

·         The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup (10th edition), featuring 32 teams, will be hosted by Brazil, the first Women’s World Cup in South America.

·         The USA, along with Canada and Mexico, is also set to co-host the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup (23rd edition).

 

4.       WORLD BOXING CUP 2025 IN BRAZIL

·         The World Boxing Cup Brazil 2025, the first leg of the World Boxing Cup 2025 was held at Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

·         Uzbekistan secured the top position in the overall men’s medal tally with a total of 7 medals (5 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze), followed by India in second place with 6 medals (1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze), while Brazil finished third with 5 medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze).

5.       SEBI ISSUED FRAMEWORK FOR REGISTRATION OF PERFORMANCE VALIDATION AGENCY

·         Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued operational framework for a performance validation agency called the Past Risk and Return Verification Agency (PaRRVA).

·         As per SEBI’s circular, a CRA will be recognised as a PaRRVA in terms of Regulation 12A of the ‘SEBI (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulations, 1999’ (“CRA Regulations”)

·         In addition to that, such CRA engages with a recognized Stock Exchange (SE) will act as PaRRVA Data Centre (“PDC”).

·         For CRA to act as PaRRVA,  it must have minimum 15 years of past experience; minimum  net worth of Rs 100 crore; investor grievance redressal mechanism including Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) mechanism; and 250 or above issuers should have obtained ratings for debt securities.

·         For SE to act as PDC, it must have minimum 15 years of past experience; minimum net worth Rs 200 crore; must have nation-wide terminals; and investor grievance redressal mechanism including ODR mechanism.

·         SEBI is a statutory body and market regulator, which controls the securities market in India. It was constituted as a non-statutory body on April 12, 1988 through a resolution of the Government of India (GoI) and was established as a statutory body in 1992.

6.       RBI NAMED MOST INNOVATIVE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION GLOBALLY

·         The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was honored as the Most Innovative Financial Institution globally in the 2025 Innovators list by Global Finance magazine (USA), marking the first time a central bank has received this accolade.​

·         Global Finance magazine also recognized HSBC Holdings plc, headquartered in London, and Standard Chartered plc, based in London.

·         The award acknowledges the Unified Lending Interface (ULI), a platform developed by the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of RBI headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

 

7.       NATIONAL MARITIME DAY 2025- APRIL 5

·         National Maritime Day (NMD) is observed annually in India on 5th April to recognize the maritime sector’s contributions to the economy, global trade, and international relations.

·         The day also commemorates the historic voyage of SS Loyalty, India’s first Swadeshi ship which embarked on its maiden journey from Mumbai to London (the United Kingdom) on April 5, 1919.

 

8.       WORLD HEALTH DAY 2025 – APRIL 7

·         The United Nations (UN’s) 77th World Health Day is observed annually across the globe on April 7, to raise awareness about a specific health issue that is of global concern.

·         The theme for World Health Day 2025 is “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,”.

 

9.       WORLD HOMEOPATHY DAY 2025  – APRIL 10

·         World Homeopathy Day (WHD) is observed annually on April 10 to raise awareness about homeopathy, its foundational principles, and its contributions to global healthcare.

·         This day also marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. In 2025, we celebrate his 270th birth anniversary.​

 

10.    VETERAN MANOJ KUMAR PASSES AWAY

·         Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar passed away

·         He was born in July 24, 1937 in Abbottabad, then part of British India (now in Pakistan).

·         He was fondly called ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his contribution to acting and filmmaking with patriotic themes.

·         In 1992, he was honored with Padma Shri award, India’s fourth highest civilian award in the field of Arts.

·         In 1968, he won National Film Award by Government of India (GoI) for the film Upkar for second Best Feature Film.

·         In 2016, he was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest cinematic honour, during the 63rd National Film Awards.
