1. FORBES’ 2025 RICHEST
PEOPLE IN WORLD
·
Forbes
released its ‘39th Annual World’s Billionaires list’,
the definitive ranking of the world’s richest people.
·
Elon
Musk, CEO
of Tesla Motors topped the List with a net worth of USD 342
Billion (bn).
·
He
is followed by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta with a net worth of USD
216 bn and at the 3rd place is Jeff Bezos, chairman and founder of
Amazon.
·
Mukesh Ambani remains India’s richest person and
Asia’s wealthiest, ranking 18th globally with a fortune
of $92.5 billion from Reliance Industries.
·
Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani
Group, follows at 28th place.
·
The US topped
the list with a record of 902 billionaires, followed by China with
516 billionaires and India at the 3rd position with 205
billionaires.
·
The richest woman of all is Walmart heir Alice
Walton.
2. MOEFCC REPORT ON FOREST AREA
ENCROACHED IN INDIA
·
The
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has
submitted a report to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), revealing that as
of March 2024, a total of 13,056 square kilometers (sq km)
of forest area across 25 States and Union Territories (UTs) in
India was under encroachment.
·
Madhya
Pradesh (MP)
has the highest forest encroachment, covering 5,460.9 sq km,
followed by Assam with 3,620.9 sq km.
·
The
Forest Area or Recorded Forest Area (RFA) includes land
officially designated as forest by the GoI under the Indian Forest
Act, 1927, regardless of actual tree cover. It is divided into three
categories:
- Reserved Forests (RF): Fully protected, with
restrictions on activities like hunting and grazing.
- Protected Forests (PF): Some activities are allowed
unless explicitly restricted.
- Unclassed Forests: Areas not classified as
reserved or protected.
3.
INDIA-RUSSIA NAVAL EXERCISE ‘INDRA’
·
The 14th edition of
the bilateral naval exercise ‘INDRA’ between India and Russia commenced
off the coast of Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN).
·
India hosted the 13th edition of
Exercise INDRA in the Bay of Bengal in November 2023.
·
The exercise is being conducted in two
phases ,Harbour phase at Chennai
and Sea phase in
the Bay of Bengal.
·
It will feature advanced drills, including tactical maneuvers, live
weapon firings, anti-air operations, underway
replenishment, helicopter cross-deck landings, and the exchange
of sea-riders.
4.
IA CONDUCT ‘PRACHAND PRAHAR‘ EXERCISE
·
The
Indian Army(IA), in
partnership with the Indian Air Force
(IAF) and other branches of the Indian Armed Forces, carried
out a high-intensity, integrated multi-domain warfare exercise, ‘Ex
Prachand Prahaar’, in the high-altitude terrain of Arunachal
Pradesh(AR).

The
exercise, conducted under the Eastern Command, to
enhance the joint operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces.
·
Prachand Prahar
follows Exercise Poorvi Prahar, which was held
in November 2024 in AR, focused on the integrated application of aviation
assets.
5.
IA SUCCESSFULLY TEST INDIA’S 1ST KAMIKAZE FPV DRONES
·
The Indian Army’s (IA) Fleur-De-Lis
Brigade (2nd Independent Armoured Brigade), in partnership with
Chandigarh (Punjab) based Terminal
Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), a unit
under the Defence Research and Development Organisation
(DRDO), successfully tested a First Person View (FPV)
drone equipped with an impact-based kamikaze-role
anti-tank munition in Pathankot, Punjab.

It is a first-of-its-kind project,
designed for precision strikes against armored vehicles.
·
The drone was assembled
at the Rising Star Drone Battle School, which
fabricated over 100 drones within the formation as of March 2025.
6. INDIA-US NAVAL EXERCISE ‘TIGER
TRIUMPH’
·
Exercise Tiger Triumph-25,
the 4th edition of bilateral Tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance
and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise between India and USA,
commenced on the Eastern Seaboard .
·
Also,
the Harbour Phase of exercise
commenced at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (AP).
·
The
closing ceremony of the exercise will held on board US Navy Ship Comstock at
Vishakapatnam.
·
Under
the Sea phase, the ships with troops
embarked, will undertake maritime, amphibious and HADR operations off Kakinada.
7. MULTINATIONAL AIR EXERCISE
‘INIOCHOS-25’
·
The
Indian Air Force (IAF) participated in the 12-day biennial
multinational air exercise INIOCHOS-25,
held in Greece.
·
The
exercise is hosted by Greece’s Hellenic Air Force, took place
in the historic region of Elis.
8.
ISRO TESTS SEMI-CRYOGENIC ENGINE
·
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved
a milestone by conducting a successful Engine Power
Head Test Article (PHTA) for its Liquid Oxygen (LOX)/Kerosene
200T thrust semi-cryogenic engine at the Semi Cryo Integrated
Engine Test Facility (SIET) at ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri (Tamil
Nadu).

This successful test paves the way for
enhancing Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3), increasing its
payload capacity.
9.
KHELO INDIA PARA GAMES 2025
·
Haryana topped the medal
tally with 104 medals (34 Gold, 39
Silver, 31 Bronze) in the 2nd edition of the Khelo India
Para Games (KIPG) 2025, a multi-sport para event under the Government
of India’s (GoI) Khelo India initiative held in New Delhi.
·
Tamil Nadu (TN) claimed
the 2nd position with 74 medals (28 Gold, 19 Silver,
27 Bronze), and Uttar Pradesh (UP) claimed the 3rd position
with 64 medals (23 Gold, 21 Silver, 20 Bronze) in the overall standings.
·
Ujjwala is the Official
Mascot of the 2nd KIPG 2025.
·
Jaspreet Kaur became the 1st athlete in KIPG 2025 to
break a national record.
·
She claimed the gold medal in the
45-kilogram (kg) category, lifting 101 kg, surpassing her previous best of 100kg.
10.
2025
ASIAN WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
·
The
Indian freestyle wrestling team concluded the 2025 Senior Asian
Wrestling Championship held in Amman, Jordan, with a tally of 10
Medals, including 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 6
Bronze.
·
This
was the 21st edition of the championship, and the events were organized by Switzerland, based United
World Wrestling (UWW).
·
India’s
Manisha Bhanwala in
the Women’s Wrestling (WW) (62 Kilograms (Kg)) category clinched India’s
first and only Gold Medal in the championship by defeating North
Korea’s Ok J. Kim.
·
Iran dominated the championships,
with multiple wrestlers making it to the finals.
