1.       MD & CEO OF CDSL

·         The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the re-appointment of Nehal Vora as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of the Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL).

·         He was appointed as MD & CEO of CDSL in September 2019 for a five- year term till September 17, 2024.

·         CDSL Headquarters – Mumbai, Maharashtra

·         Established – 1999

 

2.       DG OF CISF

·         The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointmnet of Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, 1990-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Bihar cadre, as the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) 

·         He will succeed Anish Dayal Singh, DG of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who has been holding additional charge as DG of CISF since August 2024.

·         The CISF is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) of India under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

·         Headquarters – New Delhi, Delhi

·         Established – 1969

 

3.       DG OF BSF

·         ACC also approved the appointment of Daljit Singh Chaudhary,  as the DG of the Border Security Force (BSF) 

·         He will hold the post for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on until 30th November 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

·         The BSF is the Border Service branch of the CAPF of India .

·         It came into existence in 1965.

·         Headquarters – New Delhi, Delhi

 

4.       DCAS OF IAF

·         Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (DCAS) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Vayu Bhawan, New Delhi, Delhi.

·         He replaced Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, who was appointed as DCAS in May 2023.

 

5.       SJVN, NHPC, RAILTEL AND SECI GET ‘NAVRATNA’ STATUS

·         Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has granted “Navratna status” to four Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) viz. Railtel Corporation of India (RCIL), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVN).

·         With this, the number of Navratna CPSEs has increased to 25 from 21.

·         The Navratna scheme was introduced in 1997.

·         CPSEs eligible for Navratna status must be Miniratna I, Schedule ‘A’, have an ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) rating for three of the last five years, and a Composite Score of 60 or above across six performance parameters namely

1.       Net Profit to Net worth

2.       Manpower Cost to total Cost of Production or Cost of Services

3.       Profit Before Depreciation, Interest and Tax (PBDIT) to Capital Employed

4.       Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) to Turnover

5.       Earnings Per Share

6.       Inter-Sectoral Performance.
