1. MERCOM INDIA REPORT ON INDIA'S ROOFTOP SOLAR CAPACITY

According
to a Mercom India Research report title ” Mercom India Rooftop Solar Market
Report Q4 and Annual 2021″, India set a new record of installed
1,700 megawatt (MW) of rooftop solar capacity in 2021, registering a 138 % rise
annual basis compared to 719 MW of rooftop solar capacity in 2020.

The
record 1.7 GW of rooftop solar capacity in 2021 is the highest ever in a
year.
·
In
2021, the residential and commercial segments accounted for 35% and 33 %
of installed rooftop solar capacity, respectively.
·
Industrial
rooftop solar installations constituted 26 %, and the remaining 6% was
from the government segment.
·
Gujarat
with 27% share, was the leading state for cumulative rooftop solar
installations followed by Maharashtra (14%) and Rajasthan (10%).
2. V-DEM’S DEMOCRACY REPORT 2022: INDIA RANKED 93RD
·
According
to the Swedish based V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) Institute report titled,
‘Democracy Report 2022: Autocratisation Changing Nature’, India has been ranked
among the top ten autocratic countries in the world and has been ranked 93rd on
the Liberal Democracy Index (LDI) out of 179 countries
·
Top 5
LDI Countries – sweden , Denmark, Norway,Costarica and new Zealand
·
Most
autocratic countries – Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia,
Sudan, and Venezuela are among the most autocratic in the world.
·
In
South Asia, India is ranked below Sri Lanka (88), Nepal (71), and Bhutan (65)
and above Pakistan (117) in the LDI.
3. INDIA RANKS 2ND FOR GLOBAL INVESTMENT IN DIGITAL SHOPPING
IN 2021, US TOPS

According
to the London & Partners (the Mayor of London’s international trade and
investment agency) analysis of Dealroom.co investment data, India secured the
2nd largest global venture capital investment hub for digital shopping
companies, growing up to 175 percent from USD 8 billion in 2020 to USD 22 billion
in 2021.
·
Within
India, Bengaluru, Karnataka topped with USD 14 billion worth of Venture Capital
(VC) investments in digital shopping in 2021
4. YOON SUK-YEOL BECAME THE NEW PRESIDENT OF SOUTH KOREA

The
leader of People Power Party (conservative party), Yoon Suk-yeol
won the presidential election 2022 of South Korea. He succeeded Moon
Jae-in, previous President of South Korea.

6. WORLD KIDNEY DAY
2022 – MARCH 10

World
Kidney Day(WKD) is annually observed across the globe on the 2nd Thursday of
March to create awareness about several kidney diseases and to educate about
the significance of kidneys in our overall health.

The theme of
World Kidney Day 2022 is “Kidney Health for All: Bridge the Knowledge Gap to
Better Kidney Care.”
7. UN’S FIRST-EVER ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN JUDGES –
10TH MARCH 2022

The
United Nations(UN) celebrates the first-ever annual observance of the
International Day of Women Judges on 10th March 2022.
·
The
Supreme Court of India commemorated the first-ever International Day of Women
Judges with special programmes organised by the Supreme Court Registry.
