1. GOI APPROVES MODERNISATION PLAN-IV FOR CAPFS

·         The Government of India (GoI) has approved ‘Modernisation Plan-IV for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)’ scheme to improve the overall operational efficiency and preparedness of the CAPFs with a financial outlay of Rs 1,523 crore. 

·         The Ministry of Home Affairs under guidance of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will implement the scheme from 1st February 2022 to 31st March 2026.

·         CAPFs will be equipped with modern state-of-the-art weapons and equipment according to their operational requirement and deployment pattern in different theatres.

·         Upgraded Information Technology (IT) solutions will also be provided to CAPFs.

 

2. INDIA’S 1ST INDIGENOUS TCAS ‘KAVACH’ TO AVOID RAIL ACCIDENTS SUCCESSFULLY TESTED BY INDIAN RAILWAYS

·         The indigenously-developed India’s first Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) was successfully tested by Indian Railways.

·         The test was conducted between Gullaguda-Chitgidda Railway stations on Lingampalli-Vikarabad section in Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway

·         This system will help the Railways achieve the goal of ‘zero accidents’ as it enables the trains to stop on their own if the digital system notices any manual error like jumping of the red signal or any other malfunction.

 

3. CHIEF JUSTICE DN PATEL OF DELHI HC APPOINTED AS TDSAT CHAIRPERSON

·         The Central Govt. has appointed Justice DhirubhaiNaranbhai Patel, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, as the Chairperson of Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).

·         TDSAT is Created in accordance with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act (TRAI), 1997 (Amended in 2000) authorized by TRAI.

·         Objective is to adjudicate disputes and dispose of appeals with a view to protect the interests of service providers and consumers of the telecom sector and to promote and ensure orderly growth of the telecom sector.

 

4.AUSTRALIAN CRICKET’S LEGENDARY SPINNER SHANE WARNE PASSED AWAY

·         Shane Keith Warne, the legendary Australian spinner has passed away at the age of 52. He had also contributed towards the victory of the ICC World Cup for the Australian Cricket team in the years – 1995/96 (Wills World Cup) and 1999 (ICC World Cup).

·         Warne was named one of the Five Cricketers of the Century by Wisden Cricketers (stands 4) ‘Almanack in 2000.

·         He was the First cricketer to take 700 international test wickets in 2006, later he was overtaken by Muttiah Muralitharan with 800 wickets.

·         No Spin: My Autobiography, book by Mark Nicholas and Shane Warne published in 2018.

 

5. INDIA’S 1ST MOBILE AMBULANCE FOR STREET ANIMALS IN CHENNAI, TN

·         The Blue Cross of India, a Chennai-based animal welfare charity, has launched a “first-of-its-kind” mobile ambulance for street animals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with the international animal welfare organisation Four Paw.

·         The Stray Animal Care programme, the ‘hospital on wheels’ with a veterinarian, for the street animals was launched by Justice Dr AnithaSumanth of the Madras High Court(HC). 

 

6. DELHI TEACHERS UNIVERSITY 

·         Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister(CM) and Education Minister of Delhi inaugurated the Delhi Teachers     University at Outram Lane in Mukherjee Nagar, North West Delhi, Delhi.

·         The University was established with an aim to prepare well-trained and highly qualified teachers.

·         Prof. Dhananjay Joshi has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the newly formed Delhi Teachers University
