1. BILATERAL Maritime Exercise SIMBEX-20

      Indian Navy (IN) hosted the 27th edition of India – Singapore Bilateral Maritime Exercise SIMBEX-20 from 23 to 25 November 2020 in Andaman Sea in a “non-contact, at sea only” Format amid COVID-19.

      It is an Annual Exercise between IN and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

 

2. SONG DAM DRINKING WATER PROJECT

      The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has announced a Fund allocation of Rs. 1100 crore towards the Construction of Song Dam Drinking Water Project in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

      This Project is aimed at providing 24 hours drinking water to the city of Dehradun and will help the revival of River Rispana a Tributary of River Song.

 

3. NAFED’S HONEY FPO PROGRAMME

      Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare virtually inaugurated the Honey Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) Programs of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) under the “Formation & Promotion of 10,000 FPOs” Scheme in 5 States.

      The areas covered under the Honey FPO programme are, Sundarbans in West Bengal, East Champaran in Bihar, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Morena in Madhya Pradesh and Bharatpur in Rajasthan.

 

4. INDIA’S OFFICIAL ENTRY FOR OSCARS 2021

      A Malayalam film “Jallikattu” directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, has been selected as India’s Official Entry for the International Feature Film Category at the 93rd Academy Awards or 2021 Oscars.

      It was unanimously chosen from 27 entries across Hindi, Marathi and other languages by the 14-Member Jury headed by Rahul Rawail, Chairman, Jury Board, Film Federation of India (FFI).

 

5. NEW CHAIRMAN OF INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL

      The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named New Zealand’s Greg Barclay as its New Independent Chairman to succeed Shashank Manohar.

      He defeated Imran Khwaja in the Second Round of voting.

 

6. TSIRKON HYPERSONIC CRUISE MISSILE

      Russia successfully Test-Fired Tsirkon Hypersonic Cruise Missile from Frigate Admiral Gorshkov of the Soviet Union from the White Sea.

      It Successfully hit a Sea Target at a distance of 450 km(Kilometres), at a speed of over Mach 8.

 

7. FOUNDER OF TCS PASSES AWAY

      Founder and first CEO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Faqir Chand Kohli, known as the Father of Indian Information Technology (IT) Industries died at the age of 96.

      As the CEO of TCS he brought IBM to India as part of Tata-IBM deal in 1991 for Hardware manufacturing. Mr. Kohli joined Tata Electric company in 1951, later Founded TCS alongside J.R.D Tata and become the Director of the company in 1970.

 

8. DIEGO MARADONA PASSES AWAY

      Former Argentina Football Player & FIFA World Cup Winner, Diego Armando Maradona passed away at the age of 60 due to heart attack in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

      He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

      Under his captaincy, Argentina’s National Football Team won the FIFA World Cup that held in Mexico against West Germany in the year 1986.

 

9. BOOK ON THE LIFE OF GURU NANAK DEV JI

      PM Narendra Modi released a book on the life and ideals of Sri Guru Nanak Dev the founder of Sikhism, India’s fourth largest religion.

      The book was written by Chandigarh based writer Kirpal Singh and released on the presence of Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

 

10. 71ST CONSTITUTION DAY

      The Constitution day or Samvidhan Divas is observed annually on November 26 since 2015 to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949.

      The Constitution then came into force on January 26, 1950.

      The year 2020 marked the 71st Constitution Day. 

 

11. RAJASTAN SIGNED LOU WITH UN WFP

      The United Nations (UN)’s World Food Programme(WFP) signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the Government of Rajasthan for the proposed participation to achieve Food and Nutritional Security Goals.

      The United Nations (UN)’s World Food Programme(UNWFP) won the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize.

 

12. BLOOMBERG BILLIONAIRES INDEX

      The Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranked Elon Musk, Co-Founder & CEO of Tesla as the World’s 2nd Richest Person with a total net worth of USD 140 Billion after surpassing Bill Gates(USD 129 Billion), co-founder of Microsoft.

      Elon Musk is also the CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp.(SpaceX).

      Jeff Bezos is ranked in 1st position with a net worth of USD 187 Billion.

      Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd(RIL) ranked in 10th position with a net worth of USD 74.4 Billion.

      The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a Daily Ranking of the World’s Richest People.
