1. 10TH NATIONAL SCIENCE FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA TO BE HELD IN TRIPURA
In an effort to raise awareness about science and environment through films, the 10th National Science Film Festival of India will be organised in Tripura in January and February 2020.
The NSFFI debuted in Chennai eight years ago in 2011. It has covered almost all regions of the country since then including Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Bangalore, Lucknow, Mumbai, Guwahati and Mohali. This the second time the show will be held in a North Eastern city.


2. ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY HAS LAUNCHED A SONG “HAWA AANE DE” TO SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT AIR POLLUTION
As the World Environment Day is approaching, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched a theme song ‘Hawa Aane De’ on air pollution. The song was launched in the national capital.
The aim is to spread awareness regarding protecting the environment. Secretary of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched the song in the presence of actor Shekhar Suman and singer Shaan. World Environment Day is celebrated on June 05.

3. RBI PERMITTED BANKS TO USE AADHAAR ONLY FOR DBT ACCOUNTS FOR KYC REQUIREMENTS
The Reserve Bank of India has permitted banks to accept Aadhaar number (Offline verification) for Know Your Customer verification with the consent of the customers. RBI has added the ‘Proof of possession of Aadhaar number’ to the list of Officially Valid Documents.
This was notified by the RBI in its amended Master Direction on KYC. RBI’s Master Direction is a rule book that the regulated entities need to follow.
The bank should obtain the Aadhaar number from the customers who receive any benefit or subsidy under Direct Benefit Transfer.
All the non-individual customers should submit Permanent Account Number(PAN)/Form No 60 (for companies and Partnership firms – only PAN) along with other documents. Form 60 is submitted by an individual who do not have a Permanent Account Number (PAN).
If the existing customers fail to submit PAN or Form No. 60 within the time limit, then they will be subject to temporary ceasing till PAN or Form No 60 is submitted.

4. FICCI SURVEY FORECASTS GDP GROWTH OF INDIA AT 7.1% FOR FY20
The country’s median GDP is forecast at 7.10 percent for Financial Year 2020 and 7.20 percent for Financial Year 2021. The industry body FICCI’s economic outlook survey stated that the minimum and maximum growth estimate stood at 6.80 per 0cent and 7.3 percent for 2019-20.
The survey was conducted in May 2019 among economists belonging to the industry, banking, and financial services sectors. Inflation is expected to remain moderate and the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rate is projected at 3.1 percent in 2019-20, While, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) based inflation has a median forecast of 4 percent for 2019-20.

5. TRIBAL ODISHA’S WOMAN CHANDRANI MURMU OF BJD, BECAME THE YOUNGEST MP IN THE COUNTRY
Tribal woman from Odisha, Chandrani Murmu aged 25 of Biju Janata Dal party became the youngest MP in the country. She defeated the two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak by a margin of 66,203 votes and claimed the Keonjhar constituency, Odisha.
She replaced Dushyant Chautala who was elected at the age of 26 from the Hisar Lok Sabha seat in 2014.

6. NARENDRA MODI TOOK OATH AS PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA FOR THE SECOND TERM
National Democratic Alliance leader Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the second consecutive term. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of Office and Secrecy to him and a team of 57 ministers at a glittering ceremony on the forecourts of the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
Besides 24 Cabinet ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani, and Piyush Goyal, 9 were sworn in as Minister of State with Independent charge and another 24 as Minister of State.Complete List Of Council Of Ministers 2019 With Their Constituency

7. ADMIRAL KARAMBIR SINGH ASSUMED CHARGE AS THE NEW CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF
Admiral Karambir Singh assumed charge as the new 24th Chief of Naval Staff. He succeeded Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba, who retired from the service after completion of 3 years.
He is a recipient of Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

8. MOU SIGNED BETWEEN IIT GUWAHATI AND ISRO TO SET UP SPACE TECHNOLOGY
Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has signed an MoU with The Indian Space Research Organisation to set up an IITG-ISRO Space Technology Cell at the institute where Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated a new academic complex and research and development building.
IITG-ISRO STC would be first of its kind in the North-east region to augment research and capacity building processes in the field of space technology.

9. WORLD NO -TOBACCO DAY: MAY 31
Every year, on 31st May, the World Health Organization and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day. The annual campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.
The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2019 is on “Tobacco and Lung Health.”
